Rheinuferstraße will disappear in the tunnel
Cologne - So now after all. The Rheinuferstraße will disappear in the south of Cologne in a tunnel. At least where will cross the main thoroughfare, the new north-south railway.
The SPD gave way on Tuesday and spoke at the Council approved the principle of the tunnel solution, as they had vehemently demanded the CDU and FDP. The city must now determine how expensive the tunnel is and how many there are grants from federal and state governments.
For months, the comrades had fought for an above-ground crossings. However, that would have the decisive disadvantage that the traffic coming every few minutes at a traffic light to a halt if the expensive one billion euros over North-South Railway vorbeibraust.
The Greens remained stubbornly at the crossing variant and were yesterday pissed off at her unfaithful allies SPD.
Deciding where to stand, the new City Archives, has been postponed - as well as the decision on the planned Jewish museum.
